Insurance Segment Strategy team supports Humana's Insurance
business unit. This business unit, Humana's largest, comprises the
majority of the company's total revenue and earnings. Team members
partner with the senior leaders of the business unit, and more
broadly with leaders throughout the enterprise, as they deliver
strategy projects addressing some of the businesses most important
opportunities and challenges. These high-profile strategy projects
place the team at the forefront of helping to define the future of
Humana's largest businesses.Humana is seeking an experienced team
member with meaningful management consulting experience to support
delivering high priority projects and initiatives across our
insurance products (including Medicare, Medicaid, Med Supp, PDP,
and others), with an emphasis on Medicare Advantage strategy
development. As an Insurance Segment Strategy Lead, you will
deconstruct issues and challenges, perform targeted research and
analysis, and craft sound, logical solutions and recommendations.
You will also shape implementation considerations, and work with
business owners as appropriate to transition analysis into
execution. While doing so, you will have the opportunity to
collaborate with fellow team members, subject matter experts,
members of Humana's executive Management Team, and corporate,
functional, and business unit leaders.While deep diving into key
areas, you will also have a bird's-eye view of the business unit's
overall strategy. Your role will be instrumental in synthesizing
the strategic choices being made across the business unit into
coherent plans to drive growth and profitability, while
simultaneously improving the lives and health of Humana's members.
As such, the ability to facilitate meetings, drive diverse groups
to consensus, and influence key stakeholders will be essential to
succeed in this role.Recent example projects include assessing the
performance of strategic initiatives and business areas, evolving
key facets of the Medicare Advantage growth strategy, leading the
development of the annual Medicare Advantage strategic plan, and
refreshing the strategy for Humana's sales organization.Key
responsibilities include:Delivering high quality analysis and
deliverables that clearly frame objectives, issues/challenges, and
articulate compelling, insightful findings, conclusions, and
recommendationsManaging and delivering workstreams within
high-profile, high-impact strategy projects end-to-end, from
developing an approach to delivering recommendations and final
deliverables; independently managing end-to-end smaller scale
strategy projects and/or initiativesDeveloping high quality,
insightful, and clear analysis and deliverables for Humana's
executive management team and Board of DirectorsDeveloping
hypotheses to be validated or refined through targeted research and
analysisConducting interviews, working sessions, and report-outs
with leaders across the companyConducting industry, market,
competitor, and financial analysisWorking collaboratively with
fellow team members and leaders across the companyEffectively
leading and developing junior members of the teamLeading critical
processes to prepare leadership for interactions with Humana's
executive Management Team and Board of DirectorsBeing a steward of
the strategy team's operating model, norms and ways of
workingDefining and developing opportunities for strategic
alignment and consistent reporting across the business
segmentDesigning and monitoring key metrics and reporting cadence
across the organizationWorking across operational units to execute
strategic planning process and quarterly refinementUse your skills
to make an impactRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree2+ years
of full-time work experience with a leading management consulting
firm, coupled with 2-3+ years of additional full-time work
experience in a role requiring core strategy consulting
skills/capabilitiesDemonstrated ability to manage meaningful
workstreams within strategy consulting engagementsExcellent verbal
and written communication abilitiesHighly collaborative, flexible,
team oriented working styleStrong problem-solving skills and the
ability to perform complex qualitative and quantitative
analysisDemonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team
membersAbility to quickly build and maintain trust with business
leadersDemonstrated ability to work within a matrixed environment
and manage senior stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsMBA, MPH,
PhD, or graduate degree in a management fieldPrior healthcare
industry experience, preferably in the managed care or provider
sectorReporting RelationshipsThe role reports to a Principal within
the Strategy team, works collaboratively with leaders and members
of rest of the team, and with senior leadership throughout the
enterprise.Scheduled Weekly Hours40Pay RangeThe compensation range
below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full
time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay
range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and
individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills,
knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$112,400 -
$154,900 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
