  • A hospital near Sacramento is looking for an experienced Neuro MedSurg/Tele for a travel contract.

    • Certs BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Prefer CNRN or SCRN certification.
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hr shifts.
      • Shift starts 645.
      • Report is at the bedside.
      • OT and extra shifts are available.
      • Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
      • Schedules are out 4 weeks.
      • Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
      • Block scheduling is generally not available.
      • Every other weekend
      • Rotate in with core staff

        • Charge Nurse Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.
        • Nurse Aides Yes as census and staffing dictates
        • Scrub Color Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black.
        • Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
        • Tele No, but must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.

        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house Yes, Hospitalist or Intensivist

        • Floor specific orientation 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
        • Common diagnosis / Types of patients CVA, neuro surgical, neuro medical, and MST overflow patients.
          • Additional Details
          • Modules are required to be done before start of assignment.
          • Modules take on average 3-4 hours.
          • Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
          • Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling.
          • Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed.
          • PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED.
          • A SCREENSHOT SHOWING THE NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS IS ALSO REQUIRED.
          • If your traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for 6 months with CommonSpirit AZ and Sacramento Region.
